Mission Statement:
Our vision is to break the cycle of homelessness, addiction and poverty in our Nations' Capitol, through a holistic approach that reaches the complete individual. GRM treats both men and women physically, mentally and spiritually.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
Gospel Rescue Ministries exposes men and women to God's healing love in a caring environment that provides education, confrontation, guidance and support.
Program History:
In the heart of Washington D.C., Gospel Rescue Ministries strives to be a shelter in the storm of substance abuse, hunger, and homelessness. As a non-denominational Christian social service agency, GRM exposes hurting men and women to God's healing love through programs that focus on transforming lives from the inside out. GRM has provided hope, help, and healing to men and women in a variety of ways, from sheltering the homeless and feeding the hungry, to educating men and women, healing them from addictions, and providing them with the vocational skills and spiritual strength to change their lives.
We are excited about what has happened over the last 100 years, and we are even more excited to think of what else God has in store for us. This year we are recommitting ourselves to this work with the downtown DC community, open to where the Spirit leads us.

Additional Information:
The purpose of the GRM Volunteer Fellowship Program is to mobilize volunteers for the aiding GRM in its efforts by participating with clients and staff at all levels to transform the wellness, lives, and spirits of the homeless and the drug and alchol addicted in Washington, D.C.
Gospel Rescue Ministries will seek to provide opportunites for individuals, local churches, and community organizations to use their gifts and resources in all of our ministries to serve our clients under the direction and the discretion of the GRM leadership. One primary way that our ministry can grow is through the increased involvement of volunteers.
Volunteers are viewed as valued partners in the ministry of GRM. You are a valuable resource to GRM, our staff, and our clients. Volunteers shall be extended the right to be given meaningful assignments, the right to be treated as equal co-workers, the right to effective supervision, the right to full involvement and participation in their ministry area, the right for recognition for work done, and the right to be considered and included in decision making processes. Staff managing volunteers will learn to translate the mission of GRM through volunteer assignments, recognizing and communicating the impact and significance in every task. Please read our Volunteer Guidelines for volunteer groups for a detailed explanation of the proceedures and polices of the Volunteer Fellowship Corps Program.
