Mission Statement:
The mission of Home Works is to show God's love for all through service to others and to assist others in their faith journeys. Home Works activities will focus on providing home repairs to homeowners in need, assisting youth in their development, and empowering communities to meet the needs of their members.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
Home Works Activities are conducted with an ecumenical spirit and with thanks to God for miracle after miracle. Individuals of all faith backgrounds are invited to join and share in this service to others.
Program History:
After participating in a summer mission trip with his daughters in the late 1980's, and arranging similar home repair mission trips for the next several years, Hank Chardos recognized the need for an organization to coordinate services on a much larger scale to meet the demand. Founded as Midlands N.A.I.L.S. in 1996 for the express purpose of enabling teens, with the assistance of adults, to repair homes of the elderly and the disadvantaged, the agency expanded over the years and changed its name to Home Works of America, as sessions across the southeast, and even Peru, were completed.
Events:
We hold Home Works Blitzes across South Carolina, Augusta, GA, Fayetteville & Valle Crucis, NC, Covington, LA, and Zorritos, Peru. Please check our website to sign up for a Blitz in your area!
Additional Information:
For one day Blitzes, background checks are not required for adults. However, for multiple day sessions they are.
