Program History:

The Montana Food Bank Network (MFBN) is Montana's only statewide hunger organization. Founded in 1983, MFBN is a private nonprofit organization that solicits, gleans, sorts, repackages, warehouses and transports donated food and distributes it to charitable programs that directly serve needy families, children and seniors. MFBN is responsible for distributing food to all 56 counties in the state of Montana and on all 7 reservations. We provide food to our partner agencies though various programs and are the only fully privileged Montana member of Feeding America, the national hunger organization. Learn more about our history.

In 2008, MFBN provided almost 4.5 million pounds of food to our partner agencies throughout Montana. In 2009, MFBN provided 7.5 million pounds of food to our partner agencies, and we are on pace to distribute even more in 2010.
