Mission Statement:
The mission of NuPath is to provide for people with disabilities the support needed to live, work, learn, grow, and participate to their fullest potential in their community.
NuPath embraces diversity, appreciates each person's uniqueness and treats everyone with respect.
Program History:
Since 1968, NuPath has helped more than 3000 people lead more independent lives. Today we're a leading provider of programs and services for people with disabilties, serving more than 300 people every day and employing a staff of eighty.
Over the years we've expanded the scope of our programs to meet the changing needs and desires of the people we serve. These programs form a continuum of services that make it possible for people to access assistance no matter where their needs fall. The people we serve learn through "hands on" experiences in our training programs, at job sites in the community, and from our Vocational, Day Habilitation, and Residential programs.
Since our employment programs began, hundreds of people have moved into independent employment and no longer require the support of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Over 90% of the people we've helped to find employment remain employed, and the people who work on-site with NuPath have more than doubled their production rates -- and therefore their paychecks.
Our ultimate goal is to ensure that the people we serve have the opportunity to reach their full potential and become vital, productive members of the larger community.
Additional Information:
Volunteer opportunities are available in all of our programs, and our volunteer coordinator will work with you personally to place you in a position that will allow you to use your skills and interests.
Examples of volunteer opportunities are: teaching a class (such as computers, photography, knitting, etc.) to a small group of people in our programs, becoming a "buddy" to an individual to keep them company throughout the day, helping at our day habilitation programs to keep people company, play games, do an art project, etc., and being a work motivator to keep someone on task throughout the day.
The opportunities are endless! If you're looking for a rewarding and fun volunteer opportunity, contact NuPath today!
