Mission Statement:
To promote positive parenting and child health and development, thereby preventing child abuse and other poor childhood outcomes, and to stabilize the lives of the victims through support and services.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
Prevention works! Research shows that prevention programs (specifically home visitation) are successful in: promoting positive parenting practices, ensuring school readiness, improving family health, and increasing self-sufficiency. By meeting these needs, we are reducing the likelihood of child abuse.

Program History:
Prevent Child Abuse Pickens County is a non-profit organization that has been serving Pickens County since 1991.
Events:
Fundraising events include Ride for the Child, which is a charity motorcycle ride in April, Cheer for Children, which is an indoor tailgating party playing off South Carolina team rivalries in October, and Pennies for Prevention in which many schools compete to raise money.
