POWER 4 Youth provides academic mentoring for struggling students by connecting youth with caring adult mentors. Program History:

POWER 4 Youth began in the fall of 1999 with six students and six mentors as a project of the Presbyterian Church. Over time, the program grew to become one of the largest mentor programs in the Long Beach area, serving dozens of youth each week at multiple locations. In the fall of 2008, POWER 4 Youth separated from the Presbyterian Church to become its own 501c3 nonprofit agency. We continue to help up to 40 youth each week to become the best they can with the guidance of a caring adult mentor.
