Program History:

the pastor saw an need for the community one of one of the member thought about an food pantry and that when valerie brown came in to volunteer to help.Later food pantry coordinator left and the pastor ask me to take over the pantry.And being an clients my self Struggling to Feed my childrens and going to food pantry i set up the pantry the way as an clients would like to be serve.And that an clients choice pantry came in the community where clients can choose their own food and bag it like a mini grocery.The redeeming grace church food pantry is with Greater Chicago Food Depository.As time went on i saw another need where student can come and get community service learning hour for high school and learn the inpact of hunger and adult came come in and get community service hour threw the court systems
Petco where the dogs go is another project that Donate Dog Food to the redeeming grace food pantry and the reason is clients and get food for them self and their pet as well.

group Volunteers are needed for food pantry, Minimum age to volunteer is 16. Maximum group size is 10. Contact Valerie Brown, 773-307-9592 for the month of july -August -saturday only

No family should have to face hunger alone. with your help we can stop out hunger together.Every Saturday we serve the community of 60643 and 60628 zip code and neighboring communities.Helping people, but also gaining an understanding about ... Giving whatever time and skills we can offer to make these wrongs right.The Mission Department goal is to serve.NO families should go with out food.You can find our pantry on this site,http://servicelearning.cps.k12.il.us/This site is for high school students who need to earn service hours for high school. they will learn the inpact on hunger.We also work with the Sheriff Department of Cook County Work Alternative program (swap)for those who need community service threw the courts system. The food pantry office hours are Saturdays from 10:00am -4:00pm. The pantry service hours are every Saturday from 12-2:00pm,door open at 11am. Donations can be dropped off on Tuesdays from 8:00pm-9:00pm and Fridays from 8:00pm-9:00pm. ,The food pantry is set up like a Grocery style setting where the clients choose and bag their own food,first come, first served basics,the requirement is ID with your address,or some type of mail with name address on it.

 

Those who live outside of this area will be served once and referred to a food pantry in their neighborhood
