Causes Served: The community is predominantly African American with a black population of 40,511. The unemployment rate is 6.1% and those below the poverty line are at 11.5%. With 51,998 households in the community, our clients are the most vulnerable and include single mothers, seniors, disabled, unemployed, low-income and the homeless.
Population Served: The food pantry is the first line of defense for families and individuals in the 60643 zip code area of the West Pullman community who are in need. Each month we feed over 300 families, which adds up to approximately 1,041 individuals. (Average family size = 3.47

Hours of Service: 10-3pm
Minimum Hours Required: 5hr

Our mission is to provide food and clothing to needy families and individuals in the community.
Program History:
Being committed to helping and serving others, Redeeming Grace began distributing food and clothing in the community to those in need during the holiday seasons, particularly Thanksgiving and Christmas. The church became even more involved with the community through special programs and community events. Closer ties with the community grew and the church realized a greater need for food assistance and in 1995 the Redeeming Grace Church Food Pantry was established.
