Program History:

The San Francisco Food Bank has been in existence for over twenty years. Every day, the Food Bank sources, collects, sorts, inspects, and repackages thousands of pounds of food, then distributes this much-needed food to soup kitchens, neighborhood grocery centers, school programs, and seniors in need. Volunteers are a critical part of this effort to move more than 400 tons of food through our warehouse every week. Volunteers help sort and pack fresh produce and repackage our bulk food donations.
