Mission Statement:
Women with Wings serves as a nucleus of support and uses its continual statewide contacts to identify and address the critical needs of women in the various stages of their lives. We have formulated and implemented a series of successful programs that provide a forum for learning, enrichment, sharing of ideas and encouragement for our clients as they uniquely deal with not-so-unique circumstances ~ institutional barriers in the workplace, relationships, church and communities.
Our purpose is simple: to empower our clients and partner associates to reach their full potential and maximize the opportunity for success. We pride ourselves on making vital resources available to our audience and connecting with like-minded professionals and business people that lend their support, products, and services; as well as encouragement through their affiliation with us. We are guided by the five principles listed below:
1. To significantly enhance the professional and personal development of our clients.
2. To develop information and research on issues important for the continued success and growth of our client base.
3. To promote and publicize the achievements of our clients.
4. To provide a supportive forum for our clients for dealing with the complexities of personal and professional challenges and developments.
5. To link our clients to vital resources for our mutual growth and empowerment.
Program History:
Founded in early 2004, the concept for the organization was developed with the aim to strengthen the lives, relationships, families and communities of our membership and clients, by increasing awareness and support through educational, social and cultural means. We are Doctors, Lawyers, Educators, Housewives, Authors/Writers, Gourmet Chefs, Marketing Directors, Contract Negotiators, Professionals, Accountants, Engineers, Business Owners, Caregivers, Mothers, Daughters ~ joining together to support each other as we take OWNERSHIP of our lives.
We are volunteers who do what we do not for financial gain or hidden agendas but for the reward of reaching our full potential. We understand that in order to predict the future; we have to create it!
Our name is misleading; we are not only comprised of just women. We know the value of having the male perspective and understand that if we want to pave our way into the Boardroom, we'll have to respect our male counterpart and their feedback and input.
Our staff has combined experience of well over 40 years of workforce development and provding service that empower women and their families; as well as the community we serve. We encompass the passion, drive and dedication to assist our target population to tap into talents and strengths to fly high!
