Mission Statement:

The Buddy Project is an organization dedicated to making the lives of people with disabilities more independent through technology.

Philosophy/Belief Statement:

The Buddy Project aims to accommodate the specific learning and social needs of the disabled population by using computers. They do this by providing refurbished computers to those who are intellectually and developmentally disabled, as well as teaching them how to use these computers. The Buddy Project is actively breaking down the misconception that disabled people cannot learn to use technology.

Program History:

The organization was started in 2007 by Eric Zimmerman, and his work with The Buddy Project has been published in the Gazette, Frederick.com, Press Release Distribution, and The Frederick News Post.
