The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force is the world's oldest and largest military aviation museum. It houses more than 300 aircraft and missiles and thousands of artifacts under 17 acres of indoor exhibit space.

The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force is located on Springfield Pike, six miles northeast of downtown Dayton, Ohio. It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day). Admission and parking are free.

Major Exhibits
Major exhibits at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force include the only permanent public display of a Northrop Grumman B-2 "Spirit" and the only remaining XB-70. Also, housed in the Presidential Gallery on the active part of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, visitors can see Kennedy's "Air Force One." Other exhibits feature the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Wilds Weasels, and Vietnam POWs.

"Disney Pins on Wings" Art Exhibit - From "Donald Duck" to "Jiminy Cricket," a special exhibit showcasing more than 50 of Walt Disney's original World War II insignia designs will run throughout the summer at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. This exhibit is the largest collection of original Walt Disney insignia artworks ever placed on public display. |
Class Trip Programs
For school groups, the Education Division offers many hands-on programs related to aerospace. These workshops may be scheduled to be conducted at the museum or at your school, and they meet Ohio and National Academic Content Standards. All programs must be scheduled at least three weeks in advance.
