My name is Rita Fischer I have ADHD - so does my whole family. I am thought to be extroverted and energetic (I am only when I have to be) I cherish quiet times in the woods or valleys and do not like crowds much so I am at the library locked in s study room just so I can focus =) I love to sing (and sing every Friday night in Jackson at a program called Celebrate Recovery) I like to scrapbook- Those of us who have ADD/HD probably have issues in our past that have seeped over into our parenting, marriage and adult lives. I have a hard time getting close to people and I used to drink. I have since avoided drinking and am making new friends =) I go to Celebrate Recovery so I do not go to my old ways and to get support and encourage others along the way. I have thought about doing a blog- so here are some of my thoughts. Having a famiy - I have ADHD, My husband has ADD and both of our sons have ADHD and my oldest son has Autism spectrum on top of all that. The hardest thing for us is TIME! There is never enough of it. Organizing our time is a monster ready to eat us! I have quit my job to try and get a handle on things and it is helping. You only live once- why not do it write the first time ha ha- I am writing a book on our families experinces to try and deal with all this. So fire away with questions. And do NOT give up- Most of us are "gifted" who have ADHD/ADD so find your postives and focus on those =) |
