Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the use of another's ideas, information, language, or writing when done without proper acknowledgement or consent of the original source. Essential to the act of plagiarism is attempting to pass off the work as original. It is not necessarily the same as copyright infringement, which is when one violates copyright laws. The term is a concept of modern age, and has become an ever increasing issue with the growth of the internet.
