A positive place where they have the freedom to be kids and have fun while learning new skills, cultivating talents, enhancing their character and education, and learning how to live healthy and honorable lives.

History:

Established in 1902, Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago (BGCC) has been an anchor of hope, stability and opportunity in the lives of Chicago's youth. BGCC is one of the largest youth-serving, non-profit organizations in Chicago, serving 17,000 young people through its 32 after-school Clubs and day-care facilities

Program Highlights:

We are unique because we are:
Dedicated to Youth
The Clubs give kids places of their own - actual neighborhood-based buildings -- designed solely for youth programs and activities.

Open Daily
Clubs are open when kids have free time and need positive, productive outlets.

Professional Staff
Every Club has full-time, trained youth development professionals, providing positive role models and mentors. Volunteers provide key supplementary support.
Affordable to All Youth. Clubs reach out to kids who cannot afford, or may lack access to, other community programs. Dues are low, at $20 per year even though we invest $500 in every child who walks through our Club doors.

Activities:

Programs are conducted in 5 core areas: Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, The Arts, Sports - Fitness and Recreation and Health and Life Skills
