Setting:
Located in The Great Trail Cmmunity Church of God, Warm, friendly environment with centers in the room to keep children happy and busy. Activities are planned daily. A healthy snack is provided daily afterschool. Licensed by the Ohio Dept. of Job and Family Services.
History:
We have been in business since 1988, we started with a before and after school program located in one of Mary Irene Day Elementary classrooms. After the completion of Minerva Area YMCA building in 1990, we moved our program to that site and then offered kindergarten care on the days that the children did not have school (all day). Then in the summer we offered summer fun club to watch the children all day in the summer with swimming, field trips, etc. Since the renovation of the YMCA building in 2004,we moved the program to a local church to have more room and try to expand the program.
Program Highlights:
We have qualified teachers and are licensed with ODJFS. We plan activities every day and more in the summer with field trips, swimming, and other walking trips in our community. We are always open for the convenience of our parents. We are opened for certain holidays and still offer kindergarten care all day for those parents that need it.

Field Trip Destinations: Vary per year (summer only) We keep our cost down so we can keep it down for our parents. We take them swimming at our local outside pool, local business, park, Canton Palace Theater, much more depending on our themes for the summer
Program Information:
The YMCA afterschool program is available for Kindergarten through 5th grade. Snack time, outdoor play, crafts, and gym time to keep the chidlren busy. We incorporate the character values in our program of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility daily.The local school system transports our children before and after school and in the summer for field trips.
