Mission Statement:
The mission of Langtree Charter Academy is to build a rigorous and productive learning environment where students can reach their academic potential and where teachers set clear educational goals. We value the relationship between the teacher and the student and the role the family plays in a child's academic and social development. At their foundation, teachers, parents, and students at Langtree Charter Academy will have the shared academic philosophy that all children can learn, become self-motivated life-long learners, function as responsible citizens, and realize their potential as productive members of the local and global societies and the 21st century workforce. A focus on citizenship and experimental learning through community engagement will be present at every grade level. Building upon this foundation enables students from all socioeconomic levels to realize their academic and personal potential and to prepare to enter, compete, and succeed as students and, later, as professionals.

Programs and Services
Personalized Learning Plans – Assessments are performed periodically to determine how your child will learn best. Learning styles are established to tailor lesson plans to meet the needs of each student.
Access to PowerSchool’s Student Information System – Parents are given access to their children’s personal information through a password-protected computer-based system that allows them to monitor their progress. Parents can monitor test scores, homework, and attendance on a daily basis.
Parent Involvement – We know that children enjoy greater success in school when the adults they admire most take an interest in their education. Our students’ parents are highly encouraged to commit to volunteer hours each year for the school. These hours foster closer relationships and ensure a more secure learning environment.
Uniforms – A school uniform policy is enforced. School uniforms must be purchased exclusively from a Langtree Charter Academy-approved vendor only. School uniforms instill a sense of pride in the school as well as each child’s individual appearance. Uniforms allow students to focus on their education instead of designer labels and fashion trends.

Notes/School Information:
The High School Academy: One of the major dierences is our high school academy model. We know high school presents a huge transition in students' lives. This is where it starts to feel real. This is where the future begins to be within arm's reach. This is when many students could become overwhelmed. Not here.
Freshman Academy: Our school is unique. Each year, every 9th-grade student is enrolled in the Freshman Academy. This program helps students learn how to transition to high school. It teaches study and organizational skills, goal setting for college or career readiness and sets the stage for their entry into future academies. Each student is assigned an adult mentor along with the guidance counselor to help keep them on track. This consistent adult role model becomes a person students can rely on and trust as they begin this exciting journey toward adulthood.
Cambridge Academy: Students coming from our K-8 school are already familiar with our Cambridge program. New students to our upper school may be eligible for our Cambridge Academy which is designed for students who need a more rigorous curriculum and provides a global perspective. Students can earn college credits with their Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) diploma.
Cambridge: The Cambridge Program offers an international, pre-university curriculum and examination system that emphasizes the value of a broad and balanced study for academically able students. The Cambridge curriculum aims to encourage the skills of independent research and investigation, the use of initiative and creativity, and the application of knowledge and skills. A range of assessment techniques is used. Emphasis is placed on the use of externally marked examination papers by the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and on compulsory practical work where appropriate.
AIA: Attitude is Altitude is a comprehensive social and emotional learning curriculum for kids. AIA allows for great flexibility as to how lessons are implemented. A three-tiered system of instructional activities provides opportunities to align the most appropriate learning experiences for students.
STEAM: STEAM Education is an approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking
