Founded in 1846 by the Sisters of Mercy, Saint Xavier University is the oldest Catholic University in the city of Chicago. Our 70+ acre campus is nestled in a quiet, residential neighborhood of Chicago and is only 20--25 minutes away from all downtown Chicago has to offer.

Activities:

SXU offers over 40 different clubs and organizations to engage students based on their personal or professional interests. Clubs and activities are organized in the following categories: Academic, Cultural, Government, Leadership, Service, Spiritual and more.

Sports:

Saint Xavier University has men's and women's varsity athletic programs and compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). We also have two new club sports in men's ice hockey and men's lacrosse as well as numerous intramural programs.

Majors:

Saint Xavier University offers over 40 programs in three colleges - the College of Arts & Sciences, Graham School of Management, and the School of Nursing & Health Sciences. Our most popular majors include nursing, business, biology, criminal justice, and psychology.

Study Abroad:

Saint Xavier University partners with a number of student abroad providers and universities across the United States. Specialized trips are also available centered on students' academic program. SXU students have traveled across the globe including countries in Europe, Asia, and South America.

Admissions Requirements:

Most Undergraduate Majors:

  • Minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average,
  • and a minimum 18 ACT Composite (SAT total of 970)
