District Characteristics: A rural mid-Maine School district, made up of 8 communities with five PK-4 building, two middle 5-8 school, and one 9-12 high school.

History:

Rsu 19, formally MSAD 48 was formed in 1965 and was consolidated by adding Etna and Dixmont, formally MSAD 38 to the district in 2009

Future Development Plans: Rsu 19 has applied for and is listed 3rd and 6th on the new proposed state building list.Projects include replacment of the Newport/Plymouth elementary school and Nokomis Regional High School

Transportation: RSU 19 operates 32 buses on a daily basis transporting PK-12 students 480,000 miles annually in home to school mileage. The district also offers afterschool and summer progamming transportation
Media (TV/Radio) Shows: RSU 19 suppports its own cable tv progaming - Nokomis Warrior Braodcasting
Computer Capabilities:

RSU 19 supports a high speed wireless infra-structure, an intrnet connection between schools and a high spped fiber internet connection. We are part of the MSLN network and promote one to one laptops in grades 7 and 8 and provide opportunities for one to one at the high school. We are also connected vis a two-way video sytem, both within the system and outside
