Philosophy/Belief Statement:
Aseracare, a family centered hospice, provides comfort care and symptom management for patients with life limiting illnesses. Volunteers are an essential part of the care team that become a trusted friend to the patient!
Additional Information:
We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities:
-Companion Volunteers: simply spend time with the patient: reading, chatting, playing cards, etc
-Pet Therapy: all pets must be certified. (We can refer)
-Harmony of Hearts: sing and/or play a musical instrument for comfort
-Vigil: provide comfort/support to an actively dying patient/family
-Office assistance: copying, filing, faxing, mailings
Volunteers receive training to prepare them, along with on-going support.
