Mission Statement:

to share God’s love in word and deed by providing shelter and supportive services to older persons and others in need, believing that "In Christ’s Love, Everyone Is Someone."

Philosophy/Belief Statement:

Focused on love, living The Good Samaritan Society Way

The Good Samaritan Society’s mission is based in love. In fact, love is the motivation behind the care we provide. We are here because Christ loves us and we want to share that love with others.

We challenge ourselves to go the extra mile in finding new ways to share Christ’s love with the people around us. We’re highlighting eight of the more profound traits that Jesus showed us. Besides love, the others are compassion, acceptance, joy, humility, honesty, courage and perseverance. The Good Samaritan Society Way is the name we have given this emphasis. It’s a way of talking about sharing God’s love. But it’s an extension of what we’ve always done and how we’ve always loved the people in our care.
We’re accepting this challenge to bring the eight traits of Jesus into our daily work and relationships. No matter what our personal beliefs may be, each person within the Society is challenged to emulate Jesus, as portrayed in the Bible.

Events:

We schedule seasonal events throughout the year where volunteers would be welcome to help.

Additional Information:

We welcome groups of all ages, families, organizations and individuals to become a part of our mission. Many residents do not have friends or families in our area. Simply visiting with them, reading to them, or writing cards or letters for them would be greatly appreciated! Some residents would love to just sit with you and chat. We are always looking for compassionate people who can fulfill the important role of a volunteer. Volunteers are rewarded with the knowledge that a difference has been made in the life of residents and through relationships with great people. Specific training for volunteers will be provided. If you can help by sharing your time, please call Chris Kline at (651) 767-9410 or go to www.good-sam.com/scc.
