Mission Statement:

The mission of St. John Learning Center is to encourage literacy, learning and leadership in the community.

Philosophy/Belief Statement:

Our objective is to provide training and development to equip students with a new portfolio of skills . We seek partnerships to actively expand both the services we offer and placement opportunities for those who complete our programs.

Program History:

St. John Learning center (SJLC) began in the later 1980’s with one person having the willingness to help a student in need of literacy tutoring.
As word spread, many others in the community expressed a need for similar services and the center was established as a mission of the Holy Rosary & St. John Church in 1987. It became an official 501(c)3() non profit organization in 1990.

Events:

GED, Computer Skills 7 Anger Management are the primary courses offered at the learning center. Other services include Employment Skills, health screenings and other community-building programs as needed.
