Philosophy/Belief Statement:
Supporting and empowering people in need is a shared goal for all of Volunteers of America's geographies and branches. With more than 30 critical human service programs throughout the state of Colorado, our ministry of service extends across the Front Range, into the Rocky Mountains, and on the Eastern Slope to help those who need us most. Volunteers of America's Colorado Branch uncovers the unmet needs within our communities and creates programs designed to reach those who need our help. These programs not only assist individuals and families, but provide them with the tools to become successful.
Program History:
The Meals on Wheels Program has been operating in the seven-couty metro area since 1975 and has server over half a million meals to homebound seniors.

Additional Information:
Volunteers of America's Meals on Wheels program is in need of friendly and dependable volunteers who are looking to make a difference in the lives of homebound seniors in their communities. Meals on Wheels volunteer drivers deliver hot, frozen or Market Meals to seniors who anticipate the healthy lunch and comforting smile of a volunteer each delivery day.
Delivery routes are available in Denver, Jefferson, and Arapahoe Counties, Monday - Saturday, and each route only takes about one to two hours to complete. In this short time, volunteers can help ensure that these seniors stay safe, healthy, and happy in their own homes. The preferred volunteer commitment is once a week or twice a month.
