Philosophy/Belief Statement:

Catholic education is an explicit expression of the evangelizing mission entrusted by Jesus to His Church. Our beliefs at St. Mary's School of Piscataway are: teach the message of Jesus Christ through prayer, word, and example; promote self-esteem, moral and spiritual values, enabling the student to reach full awareness of their God-given talents; build, within a parish setting, a strong community based on Christian faith and service; provide a structured and enriched educational program; provide an atmosphere that empowers students to achieve their potential as children of God who impact the local and global community.

School History:

St. Mary's Church was founded as a mission church in the 1640's to serve the port town of Piscataway and to minister to the Piscataway Indians in the area. St. Mary's School of Piscataway began serving the spiritual and educational needs of children in 1962. As one of the schools of the Archdiocese of Washington, St. Mary's continues its long tradition of providing an authentic Catholic environment encouraging Christ-centered values and beliefs. Our experienced and qualified faculty present a challenging curriculum stressing academic excellence in a safe and secure setting. Small class sizes and a resource program under the direction of a certified reading teacher allows the needs of each individual student to be met more fully.
