Mission Statement:

Our mission is to equip servant leaders in God's kingdom for the next generation by educating and developing the whole person for the glory of God.

Philosophy/Belief Statement:

Westside aspires to be an extraordinary high school in the greater Portland area with the heart and soul of Christ. We strive to open wide the doors of opportunity, and to make the world a better place through the power of the mind and the imagination, through the insights and discoveries of our students, and through servant leadership that reaches out to a hurting world.

To do this Westside fully embraces five principle goals:

LISTEN
Our graduates understand and believe that the source of their mission and vision in life is found in Christ. They have the tools, knowledge, and commitment to grow in their pursuit of Christ-like leadership and are able to hear God and respond by authentically impacting the world around them.

RELATE
Our graduates are relationally-skilled leaders. They understand the importance of maintaining healthy relationships and seeking wise mentors and the responsibility they have to invest relationally in others within the context of learning, working, and living.

INSPIRE
Our graduates are life-long learners with the ability to pursue their educational goals. They are inspired and equipped to excel academically, think critically, and understand that what they learn is a gift to be used for the sake of others.

DISCOVER
Our graduates have powerful experiences that reveal the nature and reality of God’s kingdom. They are motivated to discover their passions and purposes, finding tangible expressions of their giftedness in lives of service and leadership.

LEAD
Our graduates are leaders dependent on listening to God’s voice, committed to relating to others with grace, inspired and equipped to learn, and passionate about discovering how they can best serve God and others. They are servant leaders changing the world from the inside out.

School History:

In 1981, with only 10 students and 6 teachers, Westside Christian High School opened its doors in the vacant Collins View School building, located close to the intersection of SW Boones Ferry Road and Terwilliger Blvd. Until June of 1992, this was a wonderful location for the school as it grew to 151 students and a staff of 15. Then after a collaborative effort with Lake Bible, a new combined church and high school structure was built on the corner of Kruse Way and Carman Drive in Lake Oswego. Since September of 1992, Westside has called this building our home. In 1997, a major addition was built doubling the school's classrooms. Now we have approximately 210 students and a faculty and staff of 33. In January 2014 we will be moving to our new campus at the intersection of highways 217 and 99.

We enjoy a reputation of offering a top-quality education infused with a spiritual foundation. We have three words that form our commitment: excellence, grace, and family. We endeavor to provide the highest quality education possible inside a grace-filled environment. We view ourselves as a large family instead of a small high school.
