School Information:
The University facilities are located in the Plaka area - the old historic area of Athens - below the Acropolis. All courses are taught in English by highly qualified faculty from the U.S. and abroad. Students receive transcript from Webster University. There is no need to know the Greek langauge to attend the program. Odyssey in Athens through Webster University Athens Campus receives students from all over the United States with a variety of majors. Curriculum Highlights:
Students have a variety of courses to choose from each semester. The highlighted courses include:
Greek Art and Archaeology, Modern Greek History and Politics, Modern Greek Society and Culture, Greek Mythology and Religion, Modern Elementary Greek Language I and II, Community Service Learning and the Ambassador's Social and Political Forum
School Setting:
Webster University Athens Campus is located at the foothill of the Acropolis. Student housing is next to the university facilities. In the immediate vicinity of the university, one can find cafes, restaurants, bakeries, mini-markets, super market, souvenir stores, banks, post office, pharmacy, clothing and shoe stores (the main shopping district of Athens is two blocks away from the University housing and facilities), book and electronic stores, museums, archaeological sites, metro, local busus and taxis are 2 min. walk from university. Also, the port of Pireaus is 20 minutes away and easily accessed by the metro.
Program Information: The Odyssey in Athens program has been running successfully for the last 18 years. Hundreds of Colleges and Universities in the United States have sent students to the program. In addition to the academics, students travel around Greece during the Odyssey excursions. They also have the opportunity for independent travel during their free weekends. The Director is always available to assist students in their needs while abroad and helps make them feel comfortable during their stay. Extra curricular activities have been planned for the students such as traditional Greek dancing and Greek cooking classes, as well as community service projects allowing the students to embrace the culture and people of Greece.
