History:

The Arc of Livingston was incorporated in 1954 by a group of parents who had children born with developmental disabilities and who wanted their children to live, grow, and learn in their own communities along with their peers. Those parents did not want their children to grow up in institutions away from family and friends but wanted them to live in their own communities.
