Program Highlights:

Casa-Nica works with several local public schools and non-profit language institutions to assist them with their English classes. Usually this takes the form of assisting the English teacher with their classes with pronunciation, natural expressions, idioms, conversations etc. This means that you will get to take part in all the fun parts of the class without having to plan etc. You will not be left alone with the class nor will you have to speak any Spanish. However, if you want to plan and teach classes on your own this can also be arranged. You just need to let us know what you want to do and how you want to do it and we will make it happen!

Mission Statement:

Casa-Nica works with locally run social organizations and helps them achieve their goals. We do this by bringing in international volunteers who have experience, knowledge, enthuasiam and time to work alongside the locals and assist them in their endevours.

Philosophy/Belief Statement:

Casa-Nica believes that it's role is not to dicate how to go about solving social problems or even what those problems are. We acknolodge that Nicaraguans can identify social problems and figure out the best way solving them. We are here to provide whatever assistance is welcomed by these organizations in the manner they ask for.

Program History:

Casa-Nica was started in 2011 by an ex Peace Corps volunteer and an experienced internation volunteer with the hopes of taking their experience and putting it to use in Nicaragua. Casa-Nica has steadily grown and increased the number of Nicaraguans that it is able to assist with each passing year.
