Moore Marine College was established to expand upon more than a decade of experience providing hands-on marine science education and field research through the Coastal Marine Education and Research Academy (CMERA). The college was created to provide students with a different approach to marine science education—combining rigorous academics with extensive real-world field and research experience. Moore Marine College became licensed by the Florida Commission for Independent Education in 2024 and offers undergraduate and graduate programs focused specifically on marine science and conservation.
