Vanguard XXI was born out of the battlefield. Dr. Anthony Randall spent nearly three decades as a West Point graduate, Army Chaplain, Ranger, Master Parachutist, and combat veteran leading in some of the most demanding environments on earth, and when he hung up the uniform, he brought every lesson with him. He founded Vanguard XXI on the conviction that the same principles that forge warriors forge great leaders everywhere: character, trust, deliberate practice, and the courage to lead well under pressure. Today, a team of 23 professionals with 25 or more years of experience each has taught, trained, and coached more than 17,000 leaders across Fortune 500 companies, professional sports organizations, elite military units, federal agencies, and universities. The mission has never changed: transform leaders, coach excellence, and win.

Vanguard XXI empowers organizations to assess, develop, promote, and retain high performance leaders of character and build high performance cultures by creating climates of personal, professional, and industry growth through leadership development and professional coaching.

We believe leadership is not a title, it is a practice. Every leader we develop, every culture we build, every coaching conversation we facilitate is grounded in the same conviction: character is the foundation, and transformation is the work. We believe the world needs trusted leaders of character in every sector, the boardroom, the locker room, the classroom, and the public square. We believe excellence is not achieved, it is practiced, and that what you practice becomes permanent. We believe coaching is not a service you consume but a culture you build, and that the organizations willing to invest in their people with that kind of depth are the ones that win. Vanguard XXI exists to do exactly that, to draw out potential, improve performance, and forge leaders who lead well not because it is easy, but because they know who they are.

“From the moment that I attended Anthony’s seminar at Georgia State University, I knew that he should conduct an ethical leadership program for our senior leaders. His subject matter expertise and ability to keep everyone engaged ensured that our EQ training was very successful. The customized training also linked to our real-world scenarios and provided the perfect opportunity for the leadership team to discuss character, ethics and emotional intelligence. Finally, Anthony’s willingness to share lessons from his own journey built trust with the participants and created an environment to share our own individual challenges. I’m looking forward to additional sessions with Vanguard XXI as we further develop our leadership skills.”

- Aleta W. Richards, Global Head, Specialty Films, Covestro

“Anthony and the Vanguard XXI team provide the highest quality coaching program. From my perspective, Vanguard XXI-trained coaches demonstrate ICF coaching competencies and a coaching mindset to a higher degree than coaches trained elsewhere.”

  • Eric Jnah, Task Force Director (Senior Executive) – United States Department of Defense

“Dr Anthony Randall is a gifted and effective discussion leader on ethical decision making and leadership. He has led discussions in these areas four years running for my course on Executive Decision Making for our DBA students at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Anthony is artful in creating a safe environment for an open, candid group discussion while simultaneously challenging each individual to consider their personal ethics and responsibility as ethical leaders in their organizations. His range of real word experiences and expertise on moral leadership gives him credibility and authenticity with his audience. I have witnessed first-hand the difference he makes in our students’ thinking on ethics and moral leadership; they continue to discuss the session well-after he’s left. I heartily recommend Anthony. If you’re wanting to challenge your group and make a difference, you’d do well to engage him.”

  • Dr. Karen Loch, Professor, J. Mack Robinson College of Business, DBA Program

“At The Westervelt Company, we’ve incorporated Vanguard XXI into our leadership development and succession training programs. Vanguard XXI has worked with us to develop customized leadership development and ethical training curricula that all of our senior leadership as well as multiple waives of succession candidates participate in. We have found Vanguard XXI to be a meaningful partner that has taken the time to learn our business and our culture and to customize their approach to delivering high quality, interactive and situational training sessions that are informative, engaging and entertaining. Our teams have consistently provided positive feedback and we are proud to have aligned with such a reputable group. We would highly recommend Vanguard XXI’s services and look forward to a long relationship with them.”
